New Year, New Goals
I remember when I first got into real estate and my mentor had me create a Dream Board or Vision Board. I wasn't sure what it was at the time, but now it is something that I look forward to each new year. Working in real estate can mean late nights, working weekends and being on call 24/7. Having this visual board in front of me, was a constant reminder of why I have to work so hard. That first year, I sat down with my husband and had him create the board with me. He was having a difficult time with the idea of me changing my career to one that would take up so much of my time. This way, he too would know what I was working towards. Over the years, we have been able to look back and see all that we have accomplished. It does become very rewarding when you set a goal and at the end of the year realize that you have achieved it. This creative project gives me the chance to reflect on my past year, set goals and dream about what I want to acheive in year ahead. This powerful tool serves as your image of the future - a tangible representation of where you are going. It represents your dreams, your goals, and your ideal life. Create a life worth living!
Find pictures that represent or symbolize the experiences, feelings, and possessions you want to attract into your life, and place them in your board. Have fun with the process! Use photographs, magazine cutouts, pictures from the Internet--whatever inspires you. Be creative. Include not only pictures, but anything that speaks to you.
Try keeping your vision board somewhere that you will see it each day. take a moment of your morning or evening visualizing, affirming, believing, and internalizing your goals. Have you ever watched or read "The Secret"? Same idea. If you believe something, want something, feel something then put it out in the world and it will happen. It comes down to the Laws of Attraction.
This year, I have created a digital vision board. Have a look. Then go get started on yours.
